9651 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Well it had locked up in 'confirm devices' So re confirmed what was on the system, (x 2 keypads) and it reset. Gave it a thorough test, checked all loads/induced AC readings etc, couldnt get it to trip again. Rang up tech, not a scoob. So, fingers crossed..................?!
datadiffusion Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Hate faults like that. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
dazoman1 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 i noticed a few faults on texecom! the new elite range which was really buggy last year when it was realised i found you could not trigger outputs off network 2 expsanders ! resolved now though
9651 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Yeah, tbh we only use them as we have a big iD estate out there, so need something thats still compatible. I really rate them but there always seems to be new firmware updates. They are ironing the issues out though, so its a good thing imo.

Minor in most cases, and annoyances, yes we have issues, but at least we fix them, hence the regular updates, which TBH don't just fix issues, we actually add features people request as well!! amealing@texe.com Head of Industry Affairs Visit Our Website Texecom

I suppose this is a double edge sword. You could take the Honeywell approach and address nothing but then people think your gear is rock solid because no firmware updates but you release firmware updates as frequent as lottery draws but not always for issues. I suppose it's what people get conditioned to. MAS issue new release every 4-6 weeks, some bug fixes some new little features but as I'm conditioned to it I don't think about it. Webway are similar. When we first used them about 18 months ago they were on 3.43 and now 3.52 so that's about 1 firmware release every 2 months. In each release seems a mixture of new integrations and issue fixes. Have you ever considered a more regular release cycle so everyone expects a new version every x months? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
