Papahotel Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I'm a sparky more than an alarm engineer & have been requested to remove an old alarm system - Panel says 'Bentley' & it looks like either an F130 or F133 - from a site I am working on. I have managed to disconnect the remote sounder/ keypad with no problem from the main board. The question is when I disconnect the front 'Bell" is sounds (obviously). Is there a way to remotely disconnect the Bell from the panel or is it best to remove the bell unit entirely - Im assuming its got a battery in it. Trouble is it will need scaffold to get to it as its 2 stories up, hence the disconnection query. Any help much appreciated! .

arfur mo Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 You will need to get to the sounder or let it sound till its flat If a very old system and battery is still strong,, that siren could go on for some time. More modern sirens have cut outs of up-to 20 minutes prevent issues and fines with noise pollution concerns. We can not give you the way overcome the siren, we are security engineers, not advisors for the convenience of could/would be intruders. Not suggesting you are one, but hopefully you can see our duty of care. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
