Alpat Systems Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 You should only use 1 twisted pair for each video signal, sounds like you may have used 1 pair for + and 1 pair for -, it must be a single twisted pair As Breff says, 1 pair for each video signal. http://www.nvt.com/assets/en-us/securityArticle_2007.pdf

breff Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 We're back to using RG59 and 2 core for HDSDI The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Paul P Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 What are your thoughts on hdsdi I have had it rubbished by bods trying to sell ip cameras. Trade Member
ChrisMurphy Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 luck or judgement? just prefer rg59 from an engineers point of view, strips better, repairs better, tougher. all in my opinion ofc also like reels better than boxes. was certainly not that I was forseeing hd-sdi What are your thoughts on hdsdi I have had it rubbished by bods trying to sell ip cameras. never bothered with IP, left it for the computer based competitors Seems like it didn't take off......yet hd sdi puts old school cctv to shame. Budget Hdsdi can read number plates with a wide angle lens better than double priced analogue with a narrow angle lens. 30 years of experience, ssaib approved family business. matthew.brough Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 IP puts HD SDI to shame big time. +1 www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
whistle Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 We have just fitted 16 cameras in a school, they now want 5 more. 2nd DVR and guess what we price to cable all of the additions accordingly. But to our advantage and profit margin there is enough spare cores in the existing cat5 to save ££££££ on the install.
