I have already wired it in using a fused spur etc. Any tips that anyone can offer? Should i enroll the sensors before putting them in the locations i want them in? Anything at all that may make life easier? Appreciate the help in advance.
james.wilson
id fit the backplates in location and yes it will be easier when you dont know the gear to have the device in your hand as you enroll it. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. sixwheeledbeast
Install panel and power up. Install backplates. Enroll. (Some devices maybe pre-enrolled) Use small marker to put date on batteries. Fit and close. Test.

solo
Thanks for the help guys. Quick question. I have 2 MCT-302T door contact sensors. I have read the instruction manual but have a couple of questions. It will be mounted wireless. The 4 switches, switch 1,3 and 4 should be in the on position 4 could be off as well correct?. The number 2 switch should be in the off position with a jumper wire in the input terminal correct?
sixwheeledbeast
Normally left in default positions. There should be a sticker inside the lid to tell you what the switches do.
solo
Im going to be going wireless so i assume what i said above is correct, if someone could please clarify. The instructions say the following. Somewhat confusing to a novice like me. If your application does not require the auxiliary input, be sure to set DIP switch SW2 to OFF and to short the input terminals together with a piece of jumper wire SWITCH SW1: Determines whether the reed switch input will be active or inactive. Note:With SW1 set to OFF, the reed switch input will not initiate periodic supervision transmissions. SWITCH SW2: Determines whether the auxiliary input will behave as a 47k Ω end-of-line (E.O.L.) input or as a normally closed (N.C.) input. SWITCH SW3: Determines whether the transmitter will report a restore event when an input restores from an alarm condition. Note:Selecting the ON position enables you to find out whether the door or window under surveillance are open or closed. SWITCH SW4: In non-supervised systems, it is sometimes required to report an alarm repeatedly at short intervals, until the disturbed input reverts to its normal (undisturbed) state. SW4 is used to select between repetitive and one-shot transmission. Note:Transmissions initiated by “tamper” events will be repeatedonce every 3 minutes, regardless of SW4 setting. solo
guys for the instructions on setting up. All went smoothly and not hard at all. I have 2 questions though. One of my wireless pirs is "not ok". I have tried two different new batteries in it. When doing the walk test it comes back as "not ok" but if i set the alarm and try it it activate the alarm all be it you have to dance in front of it for about 10 seconds. I set the alarm yesterday and came home and the alarm had been activated and that sensor was the cause of it. Any checks i can do to the sensor or do i need a new one. I have tried it at different heights but it makes no difference to it detecting anything. Second question, i have read the forums and searched the web but want to be sure before opening up the panel. I have virgin media as internet and phone provider. What colour phone wires do i need to use for the phone system to call me in case of alarm? I can see terminals that say line and set, what colour wires go where? Thanks in advance for any help.
sixwheeledbeast
One of my wireless pirs is "not ok". A common issue I get with "clever" Powermax customers trying to use the walk test mode. For some background on understanding, this is a one way wireless system so the PIR's will only send signals. It also means they don't know if the signals have been acknowledged by the panel. Wireless PIR's generally sleep for X minutes after they have activated, if they are still active they will continue sleeping. This is done individually by each detector to safe battery life. With a two way panel a signal is received by the devices to say "I am in walk test" or "I am armed" which is used to switch all the PIR's to "awake". However, back to the Powermax it's one way so why is it "NOT OK"? They are asleep and the panel can't tell it to switch to "awake" So you have 2 options, wait or commission" *Wait until the PIR has slept for X minutes then test. *Commission put the device into "walk test mode" by removing the lid. After a minute or so warm up time it will send a signal every activation for the commission period. What colour phone wires do i need to use for the phone system to call me in case of alarm? The "colour" doesn't matter, it's whats on the "colours" that matters.
