goncall Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I really don't like people interacting with me who I don't invite to. do they need to ask permission to talk to you first..
norman Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I can't remember but it will have been sharp, quick witted and put him in his box Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
matthew.brough Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 do they need to ask permission to talk to you first.. If it's someone I don't know, I prefer contact by other means first. If it's someone I know the polar opposite I can be the most friendly person alive. Same with phone calls, if I've given someone my number I'm happy for them to call but if someone calls me who had obtained it I go mad. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/

Cubit Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 i think hd cctv will change that perception as d1 ***** stops New builds and refits going over to IP
GWA-ISC Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 Guys. Thanks for your responses, although I must say they don't fill me with much confidence. I totally agree with the stance on stand alone CCTV, total waste of money in my view, but remote monitoring, done correctly, is pro-active and DOES deter crime. Having specified, installed and monitored systems for many years I can confirm that. As to what I do as an independent consultant, as mentioned, I can assist those that do not know the in's and out's on remote CCTV etc. and assist end users in determining what level of security they require without the pressure from the installer. As to ARC charges, many are charging as little as £1.00 per camera per week, hardly expensive for cover every night 365 nights per annum
sjsturner Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 remote monitoring, done correctly, is pro-active and DOES deter crime. How do you work that one out? Loads of places have 24hr monitored cctv signs now and a lot of them are not monitored at all, If mr burglar believed every sign he read he'd go out of business
matthew.brough Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Not thought of it that way. Recession and all but wouldn't want to see billy burglar go bang now would we? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
petrolhead Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Yelling at them down the pa speaker should be a deterrent though.
