RichL Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Basic and dated. PSE Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I've got about 200 or so of these on maintenance, all residential systems. We would never install them ourselves, I inherited them along with a load of other mixed stuff from a company I acquired earlier this year They are ok for what they are, That's a very cheap LCD control panel with extremely basic limitations. Customer complaints are always the same, Tiny buttons, Hard to read LCD... On a plus side, For the 200 or so we have on the books, the total failure rate has only been 5 boards and 3 keypads in 8 years or so from installation history
Paul P Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I like them, fitted hundreds over the years. Trade Member
gaffer Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 So, Which alarm control panel would you recommend for easy to installing & programming
datadiffusion Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Personally, the Scantronic 9651. For DIY the UK version is still out there and just fine. There is also a PD version that ticks all the regulatory boxes (for non ACPO approved jobs). Texecom are out there too Pyronix / Castle do some stuff as well All much of a muchness at the entry level. All easily available. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
