pbg75 Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Thank you The alarm is now working it is amazing what happens when you keep looking at the manual over & over. The part arm is quite simple just set the part arm & press chime to silent arm it. The next problem is the com ports but I will open another topic for that.
alterEGO Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I must be mad using this stuff, wintex with anticode being sold to anyone. Crazy. Sooner we get away from anticode the better.
matthew.brough Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 What stops you whacking everything on engineer reset and disabling anticode? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
alterEGO Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 We need stu relays to all be linked first. No chance todays punters are going to pay for an enginner, and I'm not UDL'ing everytime. It's on the list to be done as the Dualcoms come out.
matthew.brough Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I must be mad using this stuff, wintex with anticode being sold to anyone I have to say I agree here. This is part of the dilema of using the 12-w. Support to end users and free availablity of the UDL software worries me. Be interesting if a case came about where the end user had used this to circumvent the acpo/standards requirements to involve the alarm co. One of the reason I like SIA, it dumps everything in the ARC log so we could historically go back and see of any malpractice. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
alterEGO Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 It's a piss take, they could avoid this very easily by using activation codes for wintex, given out by tech. I have to say I agree here. Be interesting if a case came about where the end user had used this to circumvent the acpo/standards requirements to involve the alarm co. One of the reason I like SIA, it dumps everything in the ARC log so we could historically go back and see of any malpractice.Another reason we lock them and use a different code for UDL.
matthew.brough Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Gent has a ET phone home on their software and if it doesn't call in for a period of time it stops working and you have to get it activated in the first place. In fairness to texecom I don't know any intruder manufacturers that do require activation but obtaining the software for some panels can be a considerable challenge for a diyer for some UDL software. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/

alterEGO Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Aaron the non approved market is bigger than the approved. That has no bearing on their responsibilities to comply with BS8243.I also plan to move away from URNs on domestics, I have no problem with that. matthew.brough Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Does it permanently activate or do you need to phone home every so often? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
