datadiffusion Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I suspect you don't... As in, I don't think texe supports it. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
Rulland Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I have in the past given my engineer code over the phone!..........I knew what the problem was, and also it would take me nearly four hours to drive there just to enter my code , "yep, ok I think I know what may be the cause, try entering 37537842257784323 etc etc, basically just asking them to try random numbers knowing that I've inserted the correct four digits at some point, "oh it's now showing system reset", "superb, thought it was that", they will never actually know what sequence cleared the fault tbh, only done it a couple of times-but heh, it worked, and engineer code was safe.

Cubit Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 now i know this is wrong!!! isnt this straight sackable offence ? Unless things have changed i doubt Rich will be sacking himself.
james.wilson Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Ive sacked an engineer for giving out the code on the phone securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
matthew.brough Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 so unapproved arcs are policing unapproved systems,is that what I'm reading..I'm off the mark surely.. We do all the time but this discussion is about in scope systems. Not our home automation ones . . . www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
sixwheeledbeast Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 how would you set that up on a texecom ? You won't. It's a Guardall thing mainly used by Chubb as mentioned above. Seems Galaxy's can do it too which is new to me.
dazoman1 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Unless things have changed i doubt Rich will be sacking himself. oh well that would be a good thing then !! i feel abit uneven about this topic now though i feel like i had done something really wrong and when i explain tomorrow i maybe disciplined !!
matthew.brough Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 im really new to this security game still i have done my apprenticeship so 5 years in the game!!! i was just wondering what is pin of the day and how would you set that up on a texecom ? In simple terms pin of the day means rather than having a static engineer code it changes each day so if you know the code today, by tomorrow you don't. Saves engineers who leave sharing your code with competitors or engineers giving to a customer then getting permanent engineer access. Not a widely used feature at all. now i know this is wrong!!! isnt this straight sackable offence ? i only carried on because the security guard had the code already from the other company and decided to put it in and i could hear him playing around so i could see him upsetting the system more if i said i will be four hours to attend im sure while me driving to site he would be in the system trying to be the hero himself... so i felt like i did the right thing and talk him through it... once again system will be checked over and engineer code changed If he already had it you were on the back foot. As long as you get it changed you've done the right thing IMO. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
