Rulland
I knew the site, I installed it, I knew the customer- well-my gut feeling was save a good customer having to wait, and knowing the problem a judgement call was made that saved everyone wasted time etc, I'd say that served everyone's purposes tbh. Rulland
And we all always play by the rules Matthew do we?, I'm not getting into a slanging match, If UDL was available at that point what's the difference?, and if ADT can move the goalposts........ Engineer code wasn't given directly, though I have had problems via call outs on others systems where I've phoned the sounder number and they have directly given me the engineer code, great for me, but doesn't say a lot for their concern at keeping prospective clients does it?. matthew.brough
Didn't say I thought you'd done the wrong thing, I said the rules didn't allow it. I suppose the argument is UDL there isn't a danger of the code being leaked. That's why I like pin of the day. In your circumstance the maximum time the customer had the code was 24 hours. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
james.wilson
I don't think its about takeovers etc for me it protects the firm. Rulland
Pin of the day is great, but the majority of firms use a standard engineer code, and whether by UDL or what, that code is then vunerable to abuse unfortunately.
james.wilson
Agreed why we are moving to unique codes for each site securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. sixwheeledbeast
I don't think it's hard to provide a unique engineer code per site. I would if I was calling the shots.
