matthew.brough Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Not into it myself but could come useful if into a bit of file sharing www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
datadiffusion Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Funny enough we did do fibre termination when I was at brunel / city of bristol college. The lecturers had a lucrative sideline training Avonline staff (at that time the business division of the local cable TV co) so all the gear was already lying about. Easy enough but does need a lot of practice and specialist test kit. Deffo get someone else in job, but not rocket science all the same. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
SouthernBrad Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Avigalon do some decent Analog to IP converters but i think your trouble is going to be where are you going to pull all of the old camera cable to in order for them not to be disrupted by the demolition?Fibre is definitely worth considering but if you've no experience I would also recommend getting a third party in to install, terminate and commission it for you.A fluid Mesh wireless network could also be of some use too, both pretty future proof.
pilsecurity Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Like Lwillis said , I would fit a cabinet and cat5 links to the new building . Video balun panels for rg59. It should be easy serviceable in case other CCTV technicians will come to look after in the future. And when the building is coming down you won't need a mains socket to be kept live.
