I love my little puddy cat!

Cats are actually like swiss army knife and very useful, they will keep your feet snug as example, you go for some games if badminton, no or damaged shuttle cocks, no problem call for a cat

On the down side i agree they are not so stable or even travel well in flight, but on the big plus side - boy can they build up your power serve :D

if you feel the above is overly cruel to treat a cat, then i suggest to use a cricket bat! ;).

A ******* bell box! If it's in the front wall hardly top secret is it?

did i say it was secret? they are simply very exclusive ;).

which is the dummy..

There must be hundreds after 40 years....

Yes there are, mainly on the larger houses. Many of the clients i serve don't like logo's on the cover or even the vehicle.

some thing your advertising at their expense. others think if the criminal knows the installers, they will know their 'habits' like colour codes and be more vulnerable. So i only had my logo put on some of them a while after they came with built-in cut off timers.

Client moves out switches power off, result EWD starts up and that results in calls or complaints.

I can't respond to disable, as i have no knowledge if they have actually gone, just refurbishing or a fuse has tripped. if i disconnect and they got turned over it might lead to any loss being my liability, for disabling without the owners permission.

Police or neighbours won't sign for permission and/or the liability or even liability for payment, so if the clients have gone then who pays me?

I sell my systems outright, it's totally the clients property immediately the full payment clears, i have full sympathy for the callers but i have no legal authority to touch it. early hours calls explaining that to sleepless neighbours and several police officers as well as noise enforcement officers, all who insist on standing as close as possible to the screaming EWD to call me, it can get a little fraught.

So from not really wanting to attract the 'i was only curious' type of time wasters, note no contact details given in my profile, just another reason for no logo's for a long time.

another is my atrocious spelling :)

Ah, sparky special CEF blanks then.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

tbh, generally they are not that clued up as much as being in fear of being ripped off.

No matter what religion or colour someone English white somewhere along the line has done or they think has, to them or a relative. I tell them up front i'm not the cheapest around. i try to start with what i think they need basically, and add on other bits as we go through the requirements. Again straight up i care more for their security than than their budget, as i can only fix one of them.

Iver the years i have built myself up a reputation be trusted, reliable and respectful of their perhaps lack of technical skills in my field, or being timid whatever to put them at ease, not fear being ridiculed, thought foolish or spoken at instead if to.

They have to be happy for me to accept them as a client, not big headed but it simply reduces any winging. Basics is i buy shoes i don't really like, they hardly get worn. I take in a client who i feel is not fully convinced, i'd rather drop them as experience tells if they don't gel their not so likely to recommend you on, far more likely to find a silly fault over nothing or run you down if anything.

An example, i have these two brothers, the older one i got on great with no problems, he has passed loads of work to me, the younger one i was aware of an atmosphere and had no recommends which i thought puzzling.

I found out this last week he was not happy, naturally i ask why, his complaint was when he part set's the bleeper which was faulty from the start, makes this irregular noise. The older brothers system is silent in part set 1, the younger brother wanted the bleeper, on Gardtecs panels it indicates part set 1 by a single hiccup roughly every 3 seconds, YET in 4 years he has never contacted me OR mentioned this 'fault' on a PMV.

I demonstrated it on the older brothers panel who has the same system by selecting PS/2, he now understands there is no actual fault, it is as designed, and will speak to him, but the damage that guy has likely done who knows.

very annoying, shows sometimes, it's just best to stick with your instincts.
