djbobbins Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Hi We had a kitchen refurb done for which our alarm control panel and main box had to be disconnected. The kitchen fitter has reassembled it all but the alarm now sounds as soon as the power supply is reconnected. I'm hoping this is a case of it being able to be recommissioned rather than replaced but would be grateful for any advice. The control panel is a Scantronic 9827 and we're just outside Warwick. I know the system is now probably a bit long in the tooth but until the kitchen work it had been fully reliable for the seven years we've been in the house, so i'm reluctant to go down the replacement route if that can be avoided. Happy to pay sensible money for someone to come out and do the honours on this if that's feasible. Thanks in advance. Will
Lwillis Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Enter your code after power up. which should stop the noise, you may need an engineer if it has been setup with engineer reset.
PeterJames Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Hi Will Welcome to the forum Where are you? your location will make a difference on the charge
datadiffusion Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Enter your code after power up. which should stop the noise, you may need an engineer if it has been setup with engineer reset. Not sure that is actually an option for the 9827, eng reset only that is... So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
Lwillis Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 The control panel is a Scantronic 9827 and we're just outside Warwick. DD- not sure off the top of my head. Will- To be honest id take the chance now and upgrade the system. Look for local SSAIB OR NSI companies Charges may vary between companies, it's not allways the best idea to go with the cheapest.
MrHappy Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Not sure that is actually an option for the 9827, eng reset only that is... Eng reset was on a 9800, which launched 1989 ish ? The prospect of "recommissioning" a vintage alarm for "sensible money" which has been tinkered with by a kitchen fitter must have our Warwick members in frenzied use of the PM system ? Mr Veritas God
norman Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 lol Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Its OK what I've done there is read 9827 keypad as 9427 like on the 9448... Need sleep... DD- not sure off the top of my head. You were - it was!
