Guest Simba Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 I have been in my house for 2 years and I still dont know the code to the alarm system left here. I would like to change it or reset it to factory default so that I can enter my own pin number. The system seems to work fine and will beep whenever a door is opened and display "not ready". Is there any way I can enter the pin and have the alarm actually work in the house without signing up for remote monitoring services? Its a standard //.National Installer.// 1-9 pad with *,#, police and fire. Please help.
Guest dale Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 Its probably the //.National Installer.// modified Ademco Microtech Accord XPC with the icon keypad, does it have Red, Blue and Green keys on 4/6, 7/9, */#? If so you will have to get a local security engineer to come and reprogram it for you from factory defaults as they can be a bit tricky. Alternatively you can try downloading the manual for yourself from Ademco Microtech's website and trying to follow the installation manual. D
Guest Guest Posted September 4, 2003 Posted September 4, 2003 U are correct on the model. Thanks for the Info. I will try the manual as the company will not do it unless I subscribe. W
Guest gazatadt Posted September 5, 2003 Posted September 5, 2003 the panel isnt locked by //.National Installer.// as i work for them if you get hold of a manual from this site you can reprogramme it ur self.Assuming that it is an Accord Panel.
Guest dale Posted September 5, 2003 Posted September 5, 2003 Its not the fact that //.National Installer.// lock the engineer code, its the fact that they chage it and then refuse to give it to you even though its your system. I understand why //.National Installer.// do it as it stops the customer playing with parts of the system they will probably not understand, although if the customer really wants the code, then I dont think you can really deny them that right. Guest Adrian Posted September 5, 2003 Posted September 5, 2003 B) I personaly will never give out the engineer code to any one that is under contract, Even If they sign a disclaimer I think its just not worth the hassel it could bring if it all goes wrong. I wonder what the insurance companys would say about this! If they choose not to remain under contract and they ask for the eng code ( no one ever has) then we would go and change it to the default code for a charge. Adrian B)
Guest dale Posted September 5, 2003 Posted September 5, 2003 I dont have a standard code for customers as if anyone ever gueses it then they can reprogramme all your systems. So instead I choose a random code, write it on the install manual and stick it on the laptop. The only annoyance is having to turn the laptop on to find the code, but need it on to make note of the fault anyway! D
Guest Adrian Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 B) We had an engineer who was booted out, He went to work for another company in the same area, We happen to do a take over on one of their systems. about a month later when I went to site to an upgrade on the monitoring. Discovered I could'nt get into engineering mode, Strange I thought as I knew our eng code was in there, (well it was last month) Any way using the customer code to look at the event log an engineer had accessed the system only 2 days before, since I knew none of our guys had been there. I asked the customer about it he said the only people that has been there in the last week was the cctv company.(just so happens it was their alarm we had taken over) The upshot was we looked at the tapes and guess what I saw the same engineer spending time in front of the keypad doing things to the alarm. Thankfully he only changed the eng code. But the owner of the night club we where at phoned the other company told them he was not paying anything for the £3000.00 job they had done any if they come anywhere near any of his clubs again he would shop them to the police as well as put their guy in hospital. We picked up a lot of work after that from the same customer. The thought is if you lose an engineer change your eng code ASAP. Adrian B)
Guest gazatadt Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 i think the panel you may or may not have might be either a vista (as it shows not ready the Accord doesnt do this) or in fact its an Accord with the Vista Keypad on it. I wasnt aware that we had actually fitted this keypad to the Accord and let it loose. :!:
