MrHappy Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 the user interface is not friendly because it has limited capability because its just a keypad, it would be really great if someone made an easy to use app where it tells you if the system is armed or not and you just press a button. what a great marketing idea, take away the free book away & charge 70p for an app, just a shame the IP board costs the same as a small commercial panel c/w paper books Mr Veritas God

The minute you put a communicator in the way it renders the app useless or you have to buy 2 comms. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/

matthew.brough Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Developers (manufacturers) and assumptions are a dangerous mix. You ain't joking Cubit. I had this very row with MAS on Wednesday. Top and tail of it is we have invested a killing on an app for engineers to use instead of job sheets. 12 months after that investment the engineers carry paper as they usually need to use it because the high tech option fails. Their developers assumed an engineer would never have more than 6 jobs assigned to them at any one time which mine can have 100. This has caused no end of failures and when I asked if they asked any alarm co as to the likely number of jobs they assign to an engineer at once, the answer as you guessed was no. They assumed. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/

Cubit Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Came across a complete showstopper yesterday. The developer was called into the meeting room to explain. "Our feedback suggests ALL computers on site are networked therefore we had no need to design the application to work on standalone machines. You'll need to install the PCs onto networks if you want it to run." Guess which developer is now booked in for a chat with his MD on Monday.
