Gardtec Upgrade

Hi,

I have inherited a house with a Regalsafe RS64 control panel and 7 PIR detectors. A recent lightning strike has fried the CP and my installer is recommending replacement with Gardtec 593 panel for£350.- is this a good idea?

I have a free roaming cat and installer also suggests replacing the PIR's with Eurosec V40DTPI 'pet friendly detectors' for £50 each. Expensive cat! Has anyone any experience of these units ? I sense the general view on pet friendlies is negative, but are there any viable alternatives. Thanks.

Both those prices seem fair enough to me, and if the bellbox is as old as the current control panel and detectors it may be worth getting that upgraded at the same time too.

Pet detectors are a Compromise, but if your cat gets a free run of the house then you have little alternative unless your prepared for the expense of changing to perimeter protection.

perim detection seems the best option, but a fair quote anyway...

Hi Priory

I agree with the price seeming fair and the opinions so far, but if you post your location (Town / City only) someone on this forum will probably be able to help you out.
