trigster Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have a 9751 panel and a 9941 keypad, i have all the access/engineer codes and the system is fully operational. The issue i am having is the following, i am trying to configure my zones into the relevant level sets. As a default when i set a zone to Normal Alarm it will display thats its active in partial sets B and C, this is where the issue is. The system won't allow me to remove or add these partial sets from my zone, the engineers guide says whilst setting the zone attribute you key in the zone, then the zone type, then press A, B, C or D to configure the sets. If you press any of the A, B, C, or D buttons you just get a single error beep and nothing changes. Am i missing something here? Any help would be appreciated. thanks Simon
sixwheeledbeast Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I suspect that is incorrect. IIRC it's something like x4, x5, x6 to edit omit and part set attributes.
datadiffusion Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 No you should be able to press B C or D directly to include or exclude from part sets. But not available with every attribute of course. OP, are you sure you are pressing Zone Number, enter, enter AGAIN to confirm text, THEN, say 03 to choose Normal Alarm AND/OR A, B , C, D or X1 for chime etc... as required? Ah hang on - is this a Partitioned system rather than part set? Might change everything So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
trigster Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 DD, Its an inherited install from the previous home owners so i'm not 100% sure but i do beleive it to be a single system. I have tried command 98 to set it to a single system and that seemed to process OK. Am i better of starting again with a fresh programming? Its only a small system so won't take long to redo. If so is there an easy way to do this via the keypad or is it best to do this via the control panel, i have shorted the NVM pins before to reset the access codes but that still keeps the zones active. I obviously need to do a full factory reset. thanks Simon
datadiffusion Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Sounds like it might be partitioned. Since you're in for the long haul, I'd go total reset. However, if you don't understand how it needs to work, you might end up with a less insecure system for the sakes of a few wrong options... trigster Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 thanks DD, i will do a total reset and start from scratch. I will let you know if i get the same issues.
arfur mo Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 iirc easiest way to unstick the zone attributes is to program the zone to off, then re-program as you require. You add options by selecting the zone the allocating it to B C or D. Same with final exit, access, night chime etc. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
datadiffusion Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Except if its partitioned, which is almost certainly what he had... So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
arfur mo Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Except if its partitioned, which is almost certainly what he had... I don't know if this panel supports partitions? If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
