PeterJames
Ex forces are always good to employ in comparison to civvies, I have employed one or two in the past with no regrets
lifeventure
9651 That's seems just about right lol, I have quals etc in construction which I'm happy to use and do with the father in law who's a bricklayer, I'm good with spanners/ mechanical diagnosis ( have to be I own a landrover), but I'm not ashamed to admit that I know I would not be able to keep up with the "old hands". Data diffusion, good info mate thanks, on the paramedic side of things if I choose this route I was looking at further training on remote medicine/ trauma medicine, what you have said reference the HART teams etc all matches what I have been told else where, a shame considering the job role, on another side of things paramedics here in afghanistan are like gold dust, and if you can get a good one your lucky and do all you can to keep them, hence those who are good can command a higher rate which in all fairness I suppose is the same in any business I think I have some chatting to do with the wife, the more I look in to the security installation side of things the more interested I am, I have a good foundation of construction, ect and it allows me to be at home with family. I'm glad to see that there's not an "anti squaddie" vibe on here also, I tried "civvie street" for a short while and I have to say my introduction was not good, it was almost like people did not like the regimented attitude, like turning up suited and booted for interviews, straight talk, or honesty. I actually got escorted around a job centre by security and I was the only one not screaming " where's my fecking money," with 10 kids in to and a fag in my mouth!! Thanks gents, a lot of thinking to do, no doubt I will be back on here shortly asking how to approach employers etc Thanks lads, much appreciated
