So you are fitting 27 shocks, obviously a reason for it, instead of throwing one line blows at peoples comments would you care to actually to be constructive for a change with your replies, this may help all in their quest for 'alarm super being', which I gather you must have already. :-

But where does las vagas come into anything???

Hissy fit my ar$e, lol, anyway Ronnie any views on the op's posts?.

:console: friends again?

Actually, the job is a large house owned by an Irish family, the shocks were largely due to them suggesting it - I gather it's big over there??  The risk of F/A is minimal (middle of New Forest, worst that could happen is a stray horse walked into a window)..

Personally I don't think its OTT for a new build - if you can do it then why not?? At least you have the option to adapt the system as required for future unknowns?

The only bit I disagree with is the DIY aspect as we all know regardless of good intentions and this isn't a direct dig at the OP, it's highly likely it will be installed poorly and annoy the pants off the neigbours and be totally counter-productive.

Just my opinion mind..

I don't think it's over the top either, west London they do go in through the front Windows often, New build put your cables in now , and put perhaps contacts in the cat room with shock, forcing the window is easier than smashing the glass even though that's the second approach

But agree with the diy bit, get someone in to do the final fix if it's cost saving or some one willing to do it

I guess in the middle of the woods makes people feel a bit safer, horses have nothing to do with it?

If we must :sothere: , how come you suddenly know more about the risk assessment etc for this particular case Ronnie?, I know across the water they like more perimeter protection as opposed to passive detection, I agree to future proofing, but I would suggest cabling to allow expansion etc as required by circumstances but no need to over complicate at this early stage.
