arfur mo Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 recently i out an outboard engine up for sale, in the comments i advised bring a trailer, estate care or van with the hour i get a phone call, -: Q) Do you live near Wickford Station? i think a bit peculiar a question but guess the caller knows the station. A) Yes Q) how far us it A) about a ten minute walk Q) Can i collect the engine during the week? i have several neighbours that can facilitate this a) Yes and ask what vehicle he has, it then transpires he intends to travel by train, collect the engine which is 20HP and very heavy, and return home by train. To carry this engine is no mean fete, for any distance in my garden i used a sack barrow, and he would need to get it up and over a pedestrian bridge in order to get to the London bound track - thats if the station staff would allow it to get anywhere near a train, while stinking of fuel lol! fortunately he had second thoughts . If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Lwillis Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I'd have sold it to him. Let the lad crack on once its left the premsis. Not your problem if he can't get it home
arfur mo Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 tbh if i was not for laughing so much at the thought of this guy falling over with exhaustion, this engine was about 50 kilo's - i just might have done . If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
