Hi, my alarm started to go off intermittently so I replaced the battery in the control panel - due for replacement anyway. Since then its still going off now and then, wether set or not, so I've removed the battery from the control panel - all quiet for a while but now the alarm on the wall outside is sounding every now and then. Thinking I should maybe do a factory reset, but would that do anything? Any advice from anyone wold be very gratefully received. Thanks.

What caused you to replace the battery and what indications on the controls were lot when you had the phantom alarms?

Thanks.

With the phantom alarms the TAMPER light would be lit, I'd enter the code and then press RESET. I replaced the battery on the advice of an alarm engineer. He reckoned that intermittent phantom alarms, becoming more and more frequent was a sign of the battery dying. It worked for a few days then back to the same pattern...

I wouldn't share the view that the first thing to look at for tamper warnings would be a battery replacement as this case has shown. The issue with the lower end panels is a little more detective work is needed due to global tamper warnings. Assuming you don't have a multimeter or know how to use one the first thing I'd be trying is looping out all the tampers on the panel and introducing them back one by one to see which causes the problem however this might be one for a pro to look at as intermittent tamper could be tricky to hunt down.

Correct assumptions, so that sounds like good advice. I'm going to pull out the mains fuse now to completely turn it off and then get a pro around to take a look - an alarm engineer I suppose. Thanks, much appreciated.

Hmm, yeah. So I'd need to power it up and enter the code again to stop the outside bell then. And then I'm back to square one. So is there a way to disarm the alarm completely now I wonder? Before my neighbour throws a brick throw my window...

I don't know your specific panel as we don't use baby panels but if I was in your shoes I'd just disconnect internally whatever is making the racket. This will either be a speaker or the keypad or both. That way you get the piece and quiet and so does your neighbour. Alternatively pull the power when neighbour not in as it should shut up after 20 minutes.
