TallPaul Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Hi A recent power cut caused the system to default back to factory user code but ever since I re-entered a new user code, the system doesn't ever arm itself properly. Once I exit the house having input the code, the beeping noise continues permanently. I've only just realized this as I usually wonder off expecting it to arm itself after 30 secs. But yesterday, on returning home, I heard it still beeping before I even opened the front door to trigger the entry beep tone. I've just sat here now testing to see if the system does arm itself after 30 secs but the beeping just continues constantly. The tone omits 3 rapid beeps every second or so. Can anyone please help me out? Thanks
Alarm Protection Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 What zones do you have as in door contacts etc? Your system needs a service and a new battery. !
james.wilson Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 plus you have a circuit in alarm on zone 3 securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
TallPaul Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 I fitted a new battery, as the power cut showed me the other had lost its charge. I only have 6 zones programmed in, with only one on the front door. Is this something I can fix or something I'll need an engineer for? Everything seems to work on a test walk through so I was hoping it would just need some simple reprogramming. Thanks
james.wilson Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 you can program it out but you still have a fault. just like amputating your foot cos you have a broken toe. will fix the broken toe. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
TallPaul Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Do you know what the fault might be, and how I might fix it?
norman Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Do you have a device on zone 3, was it programmed off the system previously? Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
al-yeti Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I had one of these do the same thing recently for some reason I had to programme the zone again as an exit zone, but owner said it always worked before and suddenly started doing this, i checked a few weeks later, customer said since I reprogrammed exit zone it has been fine..... Customer already had engineer code.....
TallPaul Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 I think the engineer code defaulted back to original. But you must bear with me as I'm not sure what zones are, unless they're the rooms in which the PIRs are placed? Which zone would I programme as an exit zone and how do I do this?
al-yeti Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Front door contact or front door hallway pir, if you got both make pir an exit zone and front door final ie fe zone if only front door contact then that's the final exit, remember difference between exit and final exit I would say scrap the panel and put in the g4 version as these panels seem to have this issue, Making the last zone on exit a final exit will stop it timing, do a walk test to determine which zone is the last in exit ie door or hallway or both and do as above
