Prodigious Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Just a quick question is having a police caution frowned upon by employers? Also when asked on a application form or even in person if there is a criminal record should a caution be mentioned or not? Thrones
matthew.brough Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Depends on the employer and what the caution was for and the circumstances. Give me an example. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/

Prodigious Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Just being out in the wrong place at the wrong time basically and getting involved in a scuffle in a bar where 5 people were arrested. Then the police giving the option of either admit offence and take a caution where you will not have a crim record or deny any offence and if goes to court risk getting a crim record. Thrones
matthew.brough Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 For me as an employer, wouldn't give a toss if it was an isolated incident. I'm not a fan of boozing and fighting but I understand it happens and imo doesn't effect someone to be an alarm engineer however I might think twice if employing as a security guard for example. Personally I would have told PC plod to charge me or release me. I wouldn't have accepted any caution. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
datadiffusion Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 When that sort of thing does happen could a well worded solictors letter have the caution removed? So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
datadiffusion Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Take it thats a no... Agree rotten, but what was in it for them? Surely more paperwork, not less? Or do they score points? So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

We would still employ you assuming that you are capable
Prodigious Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 so where it asks is there a crimanal record? should the caution be submitted or answered no? As its not a conviction Thrones
