Guest Murph Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 This might help someone. We have an installation with a Scantronic 500r and some 535 universal transmitters linked to door mags. All was well for the first year, then we went in to service and battery swap. Two weeks later we get a call from the customer to say there was a low battery flag on one of the doors. So we went and found the batteries were down to 2.5 volts from the 3v they should be. Swapped for super duper duracell. The following weekend, customer is away, key holder rings up to say another low batt fault. The upshot of the story is, after phoning scantronic tec and being told only to use the DB of batts, I have just found a tech bulletin on their site that tells me to WAIT 1 minute after removing the old , before installing the new, otherwise there is a risk of current drain! Well who'd have thought! Just thought I would pass that on. Tim ( new member, but been in the trade for FAR too long)
Guest RICHL Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 for that, I had that very problem a few months back, and it cost me two visits! At least I know for next year.
