matthew.brough Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Do you have your works email on your phone? Quote www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
norman Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Yes, programed only to push between 08:00 and 17:00 Eta. And when it does push I have notifications turned off. Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
matthew.brough Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 How can you not resist the temptation to check in between? Quote www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
norman Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Because I have a life outside work where my family comes 1st. Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
matthew.brough Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I can't compute that. Within 10 seconds of my eyes opening phone checked for texts and emails then spend 1/2 in bed responding to them all. I don't know how you can abstain. I'd got down to checking emails on a weekend once an hour and thought I was making progress. Quote www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
norman Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 All down to priorities I suppose. What do you do when you are away on holiday? Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
matthew.brough Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 All down to priorities I suppose. What do you do when you are away on holiday? They go away on their own. Not had a family holiday since my cards in days. Quote www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
norman Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Wow. Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
RichL Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Im the same, I blame my old man as he instilled his values in me. On holidays as a kid he would be on the phone to the office everyday, and was one of the first people to have a mobile phone outside of the M25 which was a car batt with a motorola handset on top. Â Matt I think you need a deputy, someone keen who can take the strain a bit. Either that or (not being rude here) but live with the fact that you are someone elses deputy. Learn to delegate. There's no sense at all being as plugged in as you are. Edited to add, Â Wow. Â Kin QFA. matthew.brough Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I hear the message loud and clear. This is one thought behind the current acquisition strategy as part of it is a management team. I'm at the stage I want to do less. The biggest strength and weakness we have is MAS. It's a wonderful piece of software, but the people who understand it are very rare making it hard to comfortably disappear off radar. I'd feel different if we weren't monitoring systems but really that needs a 24x7 uptime. I'm hoping that with some of the companies we are acquiring exists some talent that can be made into good managers so that my services are no longer required Quote www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
