Guest jellytott Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 I would like to know if anyone tell me who provides 12v Heat detectors, I have had no problem locating 12v smoke detectors ( like the Menvier which includes remote power reset, but unable to find 12v Heat detectors). Finally, is there a preferred Panel which would provide the following: 1, More that 10+ zones with future expansion 2, seperate main panel with remote set/unset panel 3, E/E zone to chime 4, The fire zone to be groupable ( ie 4 different fire detectors on different zones providing 24hrs 7 days monitoring) plus 4 PIR's and 1 PA. 5 Not to complicated, have run in cables already just require the panel !!! Thanks
Guest dale Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Texecom have recently launched a series of 12v heat detectors called the Exodus range. These are specifically for security systems and there are a range of sensors, some that operate at 64 degrees others that detect smoke using an optical chamber. I have recently installed some in my own house and I can report they are pretty good and fairly cost effective compared to mains powered smoke detectors. I also believe Menvier do a similar type of sensor. Take a look at the Texecom website under new products for more information on the Exodus fire sensors. As for control panel, I would probably go for the Texecom Premier 816 which has 6 independant partitions (useful for garages, extensions, and protecting parts of the house), upto 16 zones (using an expander of which with the 8 that initialy come 4 can be used for 24hour fire zones, 1 for PA, 1 for EE and rest for PIR's), upto 6 remote keypads and intergrated modem for either remote configuration or local computer configuration (saves messy programming) and can enable the system to be connected to a remote monitoring centre in the future. I should be a sales rep for Texecom as I allways seem to be plugging their products, well they do appear to know what they are doing when designing products! Hope this helps.
