matthew.brough Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Got a question today which I can't really answer. Customer of ours rents out offices and new tenants are in therefore we need to change the name on the URN. Customer asks, why does it cost £65 to change a name? What do you tell your end users as I must confess, can't come up with a valid answer myself. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
BUSTER Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 We ask them to make the cheque payable to the relevant Police force so that they know that it is not us that are charging them. (£52.18 in VAT) Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company
matthew.brough Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 £78 something with the VAT if it has a PA as well Do customers never beef at the cost? I thought most alarms admin wouldn't accept cheques anymore and invoiced the alarm co for payment via BACS? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
norman Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Advise them unfortunately everything in business has an associated cost. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
matthew.brough Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 Yeah but changing XYZ Limited to ABC Limited is hardly £65 of cost on the cops side is it? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
norman Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Agreed, but it's an easy defence as it's not your charge Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

matthew.brough Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 I thought you'd be well versed in explaining away high charges for trivial work? No comment. At least for £65 they would get 1/2 hour of our time, not 5 mins. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
