Alice Goody Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Firstly, apologies because my knowledge about alarm systems can be written on a postage stamp! However, I would really, really appreciate any help that you might be able to offer. I have been having a problem with my Euromini (rins1209-4) alarm system recently. I have sensors on all of my external doors and these have been working perfectly - apart from one. For one sensor, if you leave the door open, my alarm will go off randomly without warning. This might be after a couple of seconds after opening, to about 10-15 minutes later. The panel then displays the error "Tamper on input", but I can't find any information about this on the internet or through the manual! All other sensors on my system work okay, and there are no problems when the door is left shut (nor is there any problem when I set the whole house alarm and leave it for several days). I've cleaned the outside of my malfunctioning sensor with no success, and was wondering what I should do next. The system is completely wired in and so there shouldn't be any problems with batteries (??? - unless there is one in the sensor on the opening door?) Thank you once again for any advice that you might be able to fire my way
Lwillis Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Tamper on input is usually followed by a number 1-10. I'd Reccomend calling an engineer as their is either a fault on the cable or device.
datadiffusion Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 As above, not a diy thing given your prior admission So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
Alarm Protection Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Tamper spring on sensor, fault on contact, EOL not right if this has not been ok since install. Is it when you open the door it tampers? !

Alice Goody Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Thanks everyone - the system has worked brilliantly for two years without any problems. Suddenly, just one sensor has been playing up.... and I was wondering if there were any simple things that i could try before calling an engineer! Tamper on input is usually followed by a number 1-10.I'd Reccomend calling an engineer as their is either a fault on the cable or device. It says 'Porch Door - Input 2', and had assumed that this was just the number given to that sensor!
datadiffusion Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 There is little you can do I'm afraid, the sensor (contact) will probably need replacing. Where abouts in the country are you? So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Porch door. if its a surface contact just check to see if the lid had become loose or damaged. id recommend using http://ssaib.org/security-provider-search/ or http://www.nsi.org.uk/ to find a company close to you. where abouts in the country are you?

Thanks for everyone's posts! I'm in Plymouth (south west) - so probably far away from most of you! :s
Alice Goody Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 My actual sensor looks like this: The left hand sensor is wired, the right one isn't Whilst it's a little snug when closing (as the door has expanded slightly), the sensor cases are not at all loose.Any ideas? Thank you so much!
