JasonOfOz Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Hi Everyone, Just wondering why insurance companies ask for Level 1 Police Response as standard on many of their policy terms and conditions? I can't see how having it mitigates the risk of a claim occuring since intruders have no idea whether the system is on police or just keyholder response. Of course, is this just to encourage the client to ensure the alarm is installed by a reputable company that can request a URN? I am asking because most of our clients just have PC's and standard office equipment - nothing major like lots of cash/gold/diamonds etc. Thanks.
norman Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 The majority of insurance companies have no idea what they are talking about, they still refer to Redcare alarms and nacoss Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
datadiffusion Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 As above, if its come from a broker a quick call from the sub to say they will insure elsewhere usually gets it removed... So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
JasonOfOz Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 Police are stretched enough as it is - I really can't see why this is a feature for standard risk properties. I suppose it's all "perception" isn't it?
james.wilson Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 When insurers insist on police response, the perp doesn't know if it is or isn't. There is doubt but a little bit of research would give a better idea of response or not. The alternative is it isn't police response they will carry on and the resulting claim is higher securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
