Hi All

I am hoping you can kindly help me, In 2006 I had Honeywell Galaxy 16 and 16 plus alarm system fitted to my home, my insurance company have asked me to confirm that this alarm is to a minimum of Grade 2 EN50131.From the online information and from the manual it does, but I have been asked to get if confirmed, I wanted to ask how I can get official confirmation? I have contacted Honeywell who have advised the below:-

Dear Sir

Thank you for contacting Honeywell Security Group.

I would suggest you speak with a local installer for advice; their details can be found in a Yellow Pages or equivalent.

Alternatively, you may wish to contact an installer who is part of our Partner Programme; details are in the link below:

I thought I would ask and see if any one knows.

Thanks

Hi Rana, your maintainer will be able to confirm this for you.

Yes, or should be on the specification and as-fitted doc from the people that fitted it.

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Good info but I doubt the insurer will accept a printed nerd forum post.

Just because you have all EN50131 Grade 2 kit fitted, this doesn't mean you have a system installed or maintained to that standard.

You will need the as fitted documents from the system if professionally fitted.

If you don't have them and cannot contact the original installer, you will need to get another company to check or upgrade it to a standard your insurance company are happy with.
