AndyPandy Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Hi All, I have a Veritas R8 system installed. I'm having work done on the house, and as part of it, they're going to need to remove the bell box for a while, and they might also need to turn the power off/on a few times. For the bell box I figured I could put it into engineer hold off mode, but I'm not clear if that is just for the bell box, or would cover all tampers? If it's just the bell box, what can I do for the power tamper? I also thought I could just turn it off at the mains and remove the battery, however this could last for a couple of days. Is there a risk that the system would lose all of it's configuration? , AP Quote
AndyPandy Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 To reply to myself, I guess I could actually just set the alarm, omit the power and tamper zones, then just enter the code to unset it. Assuming EN50131-1 isn't set, then the omitted zones should remain omitted until the system is next set, right? The bell box isn't a SAB. , Quote
NotHeardofThat1 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 If you're having the power off and on for a while and the bell has no battery backup, why not just down power while they are working on it? (As in remove fuse & battery leads within the panel) Quote
AndyPandy Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 I'm happy to power it all off, but can you (or anyone) confirm that the configuration won't be lost? Last time I had power issues (dead battery, power cut), Tex mentioned that it might have reset to factory settings, though luckily it hadn't. AP Quote
