Guest Amateur Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 I've recently installed a 9448+, but on testing the system find that removing mains power shuts down the panel and activates the Bell. The instruction manual, suggests that the backup battery should power the system for at least 8-12 hours. I notice that the battery supplied is a 2.2Ah instead of the recommended 2.1 but don't think that should make much difference. Also as I couldn't get a 1A fuse of normal dimensions to fit in a standard fused spur unit, I have used a 2A - again don't think that this should make too much difference but could be wrong. Is the panel faulty or am I misunderstanding some aspect of the functionality? tks in advance
Guest steve Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 have you checked that the battery fuse has not blown this may be a reason why when the mains is re-moved the panel falls over.
Service Engineer Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003 Its gotta be a blown fuse fault or a completely dead battery. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
Guest Amateur Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 Fuse is ok, but battery shows about 1/2 a volt even though its been on charge for over a day. Will replace it and see what happens Tks.
Service Engineer Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 What Voltage are you getting from the battery leads when the battery isnt connected ? ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
Guest Amateur Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 13.5 so assume its the battery. I have had the system lying around for over a year before I installed it. Tks again
