Hi all

I'm  a new member of this forum.  I have been working in the fire alarm industry for 21 years.  I set up my own company 4 years ago and have expanded the company doing intruder, cctv and access control systems.  We have applied for SSAIB certification and we are waiting for our assessment visit.

I have had 20 years experience working mainly with Gent fire alarm systems so if you have any questions I will try my best to help you out.

Thanks

Hi Datadiffusion

I have been a member of the firealarmengineers forum for a few years now.  I find it a very useful tool to ask and answer some strange and sometimes weird questions about systems which you don't come across very often.  I employ a guy to do my intruder, cctv and access control work as he has all the relevant training and many years experience.  I am in the process of organising the intruder and cctv training for myself and one of the other fire alarm guys.

In my experience its the older more experienced engineers that are more willing to help or give advice to the less experienced guys.  I should have tried harder to think of a different word rather than experienced in the last sentence but at this time on a Saturday the Stella is kicking in.

You can expect some stupid questions so I am expecting some banter in return!!

I started at 16 years old doing work experience with Modern alarms in Belfast, then served an apprenticeship with R.Taylor Services Ltd Belfast which then became Fire Security Ltd.  Maybe that explains the time travelling!!!!
