thorg Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Hooray! Last night, I did it, and it works!!!! I moved DVR into DMZ, and can get image on external IP, also from remote network , but speed is low. And it doesnt work on mobile app yet, perhaps due to low speed. Last year I tried to set it up on same router but ISP was TAlk Talk, and could not ping within LAN, didnt work within LAN. Routers Technicolor 582n are really rubbish, much more complicated than Netgear, or Belkin. Quote
james.wilson Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I would advise against using dmz to an appliance. To another firewall or security device yes but not something on the internal lan. datadiffusion Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) As above DMZ is rarely the correct answer, I don't know as much as many on here about IP but I know that. PeterJames Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 De Militarized Zone or DMZ is not called demilitarized for nothing Quote

datadiffusion Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 So odd that a router feature ended up being named after a very long bit of Korea... Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
