Guest mike2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I have recently bought a 2nd hand bell box, for connection to my Texecom Premier 88. The connections off the bell box module are: 1: Siren Hold off 2: +V 3: 0V 4: Siren 5: Batt + 6: Batt - 7: Tamp 8: Tamp 9: Strobe + 10: Strobe - The Texecom pcb provides for the following connections: A:+12V , B:Bell- , C:Tamp , D:0V , S:Strobe- What's the best way of connecting these two together? A to 2 and D to 3 are obvious, and I just plug the internal battery into 5 and 6. As for S, I presume it just goes to 10, and I ignore 9. How about B? Does it go to 4? And how about the fact that the bell box has 2 tamper terminals, but the texecom output has one? Also can I make use of the siren hold off facility? Sorry for all these questions! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
Guest Rapid Racer Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Hmm, take B to 4 as this is the trigger. You will probably need to link 2 to 9 for the strobe to work Two tamper teminals? Tamper feed & Tamper return? if so you'll need to give tamper feed a negative and send tamper return back to panel. Are you saying there's a terminal labeled Siren Hold off ???

Guest Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 1 -> D 2 -> A 3 -> D 4 -> B 5 -> Battery + (internal battery in the bellbox NOT in panel case) 6 -> Battery - (internal battery in the bellbox NOT in panel case) 7 -> * 8 -> * 9 -> Link to 2 10 -> Link to 4 Do not link 1 and 3 in the bellbox since it is for "ringing the bell" if cable is cut. * --> Hopefully someone familiar with texecom verifies this..

I thought this was an insurance requirement. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Thanks D7.. Obviously I should wear my B) when reading the posts..
Guest mike2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Many thanks for all that advice Anyone got any thoughts about the two tamper terminals? Thanks again, Mike
Guest Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Many thanks for all that advice Anyone got any thoughts about the two tamper terminals? Thanks again, Mike 26057[/snapback] Since I don't know the panel you are using I am not able to help you with this but if you wire them both to panel casing you can easily connect them later there when somebody answers to this question more spesificly. Is there separate tamper input in the PCB or is there one common tamper zone? In case of one common tamper zone you should put bell tamper in series with other tampers by unscrewing other wire from tamper input and connecting other wire from bell tamper to that tamper input and other from wire from bell tamper to that wire you took out from tamper input. But check first that there isn't separate tamper input for the bell. I suggest you just wire both tamper terminals to panel casing and wait until someone who knows your panel answers to this.
