BJB Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I have a Scantronic 9448 panel which has a PIR working on the entry/exit zone. On exit the sounder bleeps intermittingly, to show the detector is working. However, on entry the sounder doesn't operate at all, therefore if I forget to turn the panel off, it goes in to full alarm on entering another room. Please suggest solution to the problem Quote
datadiffusion Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 You've definitely walk tested the detector on the panel? Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
al-yeti Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 On that panel doesn't it beep in exit either way? Quote
datadiffusion Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Thinking that too Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
al-yeti Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Either way it perhaps programmed wrong or wired up wrong Quote
datadiffusion Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I was assuming an old installation that's suddenly gone wrong, but you never can tell. OP is this a new alarm or an existing one that's worked before? Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
BJB Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Thank you for the replies, the system is an old system, which has worked fine. The detector has been walk tested and shows an intermittent tone on exit, which is correct but don't t sound on entry. The wiring has not been touched and has worked fine for two years, so its not a wiring fault. Could a power failure alter the program? I don't believe there is a setting which programs the sounder as silent on exit/entry. Quote
datadiffusion Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Just to be clear, when you say it's been walk tested you mean on the panel, not just red light flashing on the PIR? I'll be honest I am a bit stumped. As the panel is so basic I would prob. recommend a factory default and reprog. BJB Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Yes the detector has been walk tested on the panel. As you suggested, a reprogram looks like the answer. Thanks again Quote
