stelmo Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Gent panels do click every so often its a quirk. Doesnt mean anything is wrong After working on these panela for 10 plus years its become a white noise but its there lol But its regular as clockwork, every 60 seconds - just ignore it? Quote
F C E Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Yeah id ignore it. Loop voltage is over 30 volta on these so i think its a regulator but not 100%. Never had any issues with one thats clicking every minute Quote All comments in this post are my own views and do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer

petrolhead Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 The gent panels are an absolute pig for generating interference on anything near the loop wiring too. Quote
garsec Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 The relays on the loop cards are isolating relays, it's common for these to chatter on older cards, the firmware versions you are running are ancient ( If a vigilon) also the loop resistance being to low can cause issues on gent systems, a resistor won't fool it as the loop also runs rs485 data, try using a long length of cable coiled up just to create a dummy load, the clicking will be part of the fault monitoring pulse put out in the loop but shouldn't be that noticeable Quote Employed by an NSI GOLD company Any comments or views i have are my own, and do not represent that of my employer or clients.
stelmo Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Unit is still in the box, I haven't looked at it since I last posted. However I'm getting to the point in my house build to decide to use it or not. Would anyone be able to get me a copy of the firmware? I'm on V2.56 at the moment Quote
datadiffusion Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Personally on a domestic, I would stick to simple. I have a 4 zone Fike Twinflex at home and even that is total overkill (although we do have a few outbuildings and an annexe). Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Fair point but the whole lot with detectors is here now in a box ready to go, seems a shame to waste it Plus the Gent nano is a small unit for domestic / small office environments Quote
Monkeh Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Most addressable panes will click and make noises. It's usually just the panel performing some sort of routine test. It could be the panel switching from the loop out to the loop in terminals (it will only use one side at a time even though it's a loop) to check they're still working ok. Unless it's unbearably loud, just make sure everything is working as it should be and ignore it. Quote
