mweetman Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Hi I have a Scantronic 9100 that has been serviced by a local firm since I moved into my house 14 years ago. The alarm was working fine untill it was last "serviced", but the engineer said that the panel was now broken & needed replacing. I was suspicious of this as the panel was working fine before he arrived. Anyway, I was involved with Scantronic on the design on this panel, so I took a look at it. The unit is stuck in programming mode. I can perform all the programming functions, including walk through & bell tests. However, when I try to exit programming mode with "99 Enter", i get a low beep & "-" is displayed. Hence the unit appears to be stuck in programming mode. As the unit is wired to the line, I don't want to open it up till I understand what is going on. Any hints as to why "99 Enter" wouldn't work? Thanks....

abbz Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The lid spring on pcb needs stretching a bit as not making proper contact with lid.
Nova-Security Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 As above or the battery which can cause strange faults on these. We still have some of these going and still have a replacement PCB www.nova-security.co.uk www.nsiapproved.co.uk No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.
andy82 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 As above there is an open tamper somewhere try holding the tamper switch down with your finger then exit engineer mode, from past experience the lid tamper can be a bit temperamental on those
mweetman Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Thanks for all the great help! Sorry for the dumb question, but in this state, will the unit dial out if I open it up? I guess not, but thought I would ask.
