TrevorL Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Hi. A little advice please. We have just moved into a house with what appears to be an 'Optima Plus' (the wording on the keypad) alarm system. The decorator working for us removed the cover on a contact that is mounted on the wooden frame of the patio door in the lounge. This set off the alarm and after accepting and resetting it I am now left with a 'Tamper' fault for the zone that I cannot clear and I am unable to set the alarm when we go out. I have no manual or any paperwork on the system which I guess is 10+ years old. Is there anything I can do to reset the tamper alarm or will I have to find someone (the original installer is no longer in business) to fix it? Also, is there anywhere I can get a copy of the owner's manual as I would like to change the code on the unit? Many Thanks Trevor Quote
james.wilson Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 re user manual have you looked in the download section here? re tamper fault if its still in fault you wont be able to reset it. The fault will need fixing first. But due to its age it will be in need of a service as a minimum but id also recommend upgrading gear that is well over 10 years old. PeterJames Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Hi Trevor Door contacts normally have a hard wired tamper not a switch so if the tamper fault is till there its one of three things, the decorator has pulled a wire off when he removed it, he has shorted a wire when he put it back, he has cut a wire somewhere else. It may also be a detector thats causing the tamper and not the contact. I would recommend you call any local installer and get them round to service the system once the decorators have finished Quote
