Bactongas Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 Sorry guys.... Will try to clarify... Downstairs is open plan except kitchen and hall with 1 pir in living area which is zone 4... When misses goes to bed... She sets area B.. which excludes all upstairs pirs, allowing for toilet runs etc in the night.. But alarmed downstairs as normal, doors x 2, kit, hall and open plan living area.. A while ago she was able to head down in the am.. And was given a short time to deactivate alarm (just like entering front door) BUT.. she mentioned to the alarm guy when he was here to sort extension, that when it did sound (pre pet friendly pir's) clearly at the time just from the unit that it was quite and she could not hear it upstairs as the bell did not sound.. Now I'm guessing that was comm 61, and house security was set low due to this... He made some changes (again guessing comm61) which now alarms instantly on detection... With no delay.. The Misses hates this.... But am I guessing that it's 1 or the other!! Not both..... Unless I'm still missing something??? Thanks. Mark Quote
Nova-Security Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Is one door the front door and does it have a contact on it ? Is there a PIR in the Hall Quote www.nova-security.co.uk www.nsiapproved.co.uk No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.
Bactongas Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 Yeh 1 door is the front and has a contact on... As does the back door. When you come down the open stairs you walk straight into the living area (zone4) pir.. You would need to walk into the small entrance hall to get to the panel but there is no pir in the hall... This area is covered by the open doored kitchen pir.. .. Quote
al-yeti Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Can another pir be fitted to the hallway? Before getting to the open area? Quote
Bactongas Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Yeh that could be done.... What's the plan???? Quote
al-yeti Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Set that pir as entry zone to pick up from stairs , providing keypad is before open plan area Or is keypad area picked as soon as you enter that small hall , idea would be walking down would trigger timer , if keypad isn't picked up by another pir then all good , or another keypad fitted upstairs which you deactivate from Quote
charlie6 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Unless there is an overriding reason, 45 seconds entry time is far too long.. in many cases the intruder has been and gone within that time.. and no external sounder for 45 seconds.. a bit iffy !! Regarding the OP's initial concerns, perhaps a second keypad located in the sleeping quarters would resolve the issue..try ebay !!!! Quote
