whistle Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Wireless domestic earns us the least amount of revenue, so much so we try to avoid the work altogether. Quote

I price it accordingly if I dont get it I didnt want it, if I do get it its worth having for both me and the customer. Sometimes its worth paying a bit more Quote
Adi Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015  Why do you think the market is fuked? Dominated by the likes of ADT? As per pete's reply. never work at a loss. Quote I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
reggie Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Reggie what's your angle? I don't have one really, I just think it's a shame that domestics are still by far the lions share of the market, not in individual value but in volume, which equates to value in the long term if the volume is there. I just think it's a massive shame (it sounds like) smaller firms are conceding to the industry heavyweights simply because they have deeper pockets to bank roll installs at a loss then make £1000's out of customers in the long term? There must be a way to sell/market your local business and service and stand out over and above the waft of s**t which comes with the heavyweights. You know I mean... just google "ADT reviews"! Don't customers do this? Can most customer really be solely sold on installation price alone? / RANT OVER / But that was "my angle" James Quote
norman Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Scale up the hassle from domestic, and you will see why many shy away. Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
whistle Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Yes but why do 20 domestic jobs with all the hassle for the same profit as one job on a commercial site with very little hassle. Work smart not hard. Quote
reggie Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Surely the "hassle" has been reduced from installation (if opting for wireless panels)? Also, with built-in or add-on IP modules a lot of the teething problems can be resolved remotely from a laptop? Quote
whistle Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Schools are good jobs and we never get any sh!t form them just purchase orders:) Quote
norman Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Surely the "hassle" has been reduced from installation (if opting for wireless panels)? No, far from it, regardless of panel manufacturer. Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
