RichL Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Obviously I'd like the whole EU thing to fail including the Euro, but as Im exposed via the markets Grexit looks like its going to cost me. Fooking B0ll0cks Meant to be going in AUG Pay on your credit card and then take Euros, I would still go if it was me. As long as you're well away from Athens where the trouble is likely to be. Nova-Security Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Pay on your credit card and then take Euros, I would still go if it was me. As long as you're well away from Athens where the trouble is likely to be. Think it will be all cash, by the time i get there in Aug also think it might be cheaper over there as everybody will be doing deals. Corfu so away from Athens Might work out well At this time, you can continue to withdraw up to your usual limit using a card issued outside Greece, as long as the ATM has been replenished. The system for paying with debit and credit cards for retail transactions continues to function. While banks are closed in Greece and some withdrawals are limited, make sure you take sufficient euros in cash to cover the duration of your stay, emergencies, unforeseen circumstances and any unexpected delays. You should take appropriate security precautions against theft. There are currently no restrictions on taking unspent euros out of Greece at the end of your stay. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/greece Visitors to Greece should be aware of the possibility that banking services – including credit card processing and servicing of ATMs – throughout Greece could potentially become limited at short notice. al-yeti Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Don't they funny rules for property like the land grab they do in spain Quote
james.wilson Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Theres me thinking all in the eu follow the same rules. Oh wait. I'd wait cos if they exit it will be worse for them than Argentina default. I'd say they are still assuming a write down. And are prepared to push it. If they do and get it then all of the south eu and Ireland will do the same. I don't see it happening for Germany its another failed try.
