argyrg Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Hi, I've got a strange situation in which the control panel on this 2 year old installation has suddenly stopped recognising the user accounts. I have four accounts set up on the system. Each account has a prox tag. When the prox tag is presented the panel notices that the tag has been presented but does not set the system. Instead it reports something along the lines that the user or account is not registered. The same happens if the code is keyed in. There is no indication that the system has reset. The default user account (1234) is not accessible. I can log in and out as the engineer but that's about it. Is there any way out of this without taking the lid off and resetting the system to factory settings? Your thoughts? Thanks in anticipation Russell Quote
datadiffusion Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) So, you have engineer code... Don't suppose you have just changed the user code to something starting with zero?? Have also seen this after a mains spike from lightning. Also as you have the engineer code is it possible you did a factory reset by keying 98 not 99 to exit? Lwillis Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 DD, I've had someone similar where it would lose random user tags for no apparent reason. I'd swap the panel out if it was our customer Quote
datadiffusion Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) Yes, or he has set the user code to start with zero - stupidly, it says not to in the manual, but will let you go ahead and do it! Then you get this exact wierdness. Depends on customer / circumstances / property / purpose of alarm, if not the above to be honest I'd perhaps try one factory default and see what happens, then replace. argyrg Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 Hi, There haven't been any engineering level changes since the installation. Equally the main user hasn't changed either her code or any of the codes for the other users. Quote
datadiffusion Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Then, unfortunately default or replace is the only sensible option Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
argyrg Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 hmmm, I'm off on a week's holiday tomorrow morning and there's little time to do either before going. Bloody typical eh ) It's a shame that there isn't an engineering route to reset the user accounts without having to reprogramme the whole system. Thanks for all of your prompt input, it's nice to see such prompt support Quote
