dwdave Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Panel swap tomorrow. Once I've removed the inputs cables and the data lines, I take it I can hook the external sounder up to a 12v battery to give it the required hold offs whilst the panel is powered down? charlie6 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Yes, but make sure the battery is charged. Personally, I loop a cable through a hole in the rear of the panel, place the battery on the floor and connect pos and neg from the battery to the hold off cables. Quote

charlie6 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Didn't read through the posts again !! should point out that if you are removing the panel loop the cable from the battery through the same hole as the warning device connections. In that way you can simply remove the sounder cable with the hold off intact..it's easier..and less noisy. What's the replacement panel? Quote

charlie6 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 If the new panel is not on the wall, link out the inputs (conventional or otherwise) and give it a test before mounting. Quote
datadiffusion Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I have a feeling the 'new' panel is being wrapped up as we speak... Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands Â
norman Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 If I bought it as 'new' and it turned up in a tatty box used I'd be miffed...If I bought it 'new' and it turned up hotter than a cheese toastie I'd be miffed. Â Either way it would go back. Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
charlie6 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Hear ! Hear ! Norman.. ( or is it here here) Quote
