elhughesio Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Hi there, I have 1 X banham el4000 electric lock and 1 X EL512 assoy abloy electric lock. They are controlled by paxton compact keypads as well as a home automation system. We have a texecom 48 elite alarm system and i'm wondering if we can wire elements of the lock activation into it. I.e when the latch is released it will trigger an entry on the alarm system. Also curious if it might be possible for a succesfull code on the keypads to not only release the latches but also disarm the alarm. Many thanks Daniel. Quote
PeterJames Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 It the Paxton that provides the output not the lock so you just need to put a relay on the Paxton output and wire it as a final exit zone, don't forget to change the door contact zone to entry route otherwise it defeats the objective Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I wouldn't have it set to disarm the system! If it was Switch2 or better still Net2 you could integrate it into Texecom that would be more secure. The Compact readers they are basic so having it disarm and unlock everything is a bad idea IMO. However, in theory yes you can drive a relay from the lock output of the reader. Quote
elhughesio Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 HI thanks for the reply Will forget about the idea of disarming the alarm. Paxton keypads have the following connections +12v 0V lock 12v lock 0v exit input exit 0v bell 12v bell 0v What would be best to run into the texecom zone? Thankyou. Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 You'll need to drive a DP relay from the lock output, then send a voltage to your lock from one side and a clean NC pair to your alarm zone. It's not as simple as linking them together you will blow something. Quote
