hehe...I say we all go on STRIKE for lower fees, less time and better lunches (if we get time to eat it of course!)

I know exactly what you mean charlie6 - I definitely have better things to do - but some of our Clients are asking and some of the specifiers we work with are begging us to get accredited so they can invite us in on projects. We're our own fools if we don't give this some attention.

Worse case, we might learn something too!

ps. I have to respect them for rejecting us last time - good to know they don't let everyone through the door!

Starting to get the "sweats" ahead of our inspection next week.

Is it just me but I find it a little strange that we are being inspected on something where no real prior knowledge exists.

We make the assumption that our forms are correct and our procedures are solid but we won't know until we get inspected.

Surely it would be more helpful to use the first visit as guidance and then carry out "inspections" to demonstrate our adherence to the guidance?

Anyway, does anyone have any good tips in how we can prepare for our first audit?

It would be good to know what to expect and also things that caught you by surprise.

Thanks.

...and whats he going to do?

They've took your dosh, NSI will aways pick something up, unless your a gypo i shouldn't worry.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

"...inspector arrived at 8am left at 7pm..."  Eleven hours of Your time..aww ! get real.. can't you see that people are making big money off your back ?

I woudnt have it any other way.

you'll be telling me next that customers these days have to pay for a URN..we used to get them free, for nothing, zilch.. they just tapped out a number on a computer  (if you were police approved, of course)..

So you do know something about the industry then ?

I don't know the industry, only a little bit about troubleshooting and installing security systems.

Met and employed many an engineer who claimed they could troubleshoot,

You fancy posting your CV

People fear the inspectors, remember they want you to be successful, it's in their interest so ask lots of questions regarding advice and best practice.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

My point being, he's not going to knock you back, it is what it is, a few pointers scribbled down for next visit unless your a complete ****.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

"....You need to read PD6662 & BS8243 Some home work for you http://www.chubb.co....rds Leaflet.pdf..."

Thanks for the advice, I shall do precisely that.

"...Met and employed many an engineer who claimed they could troubleshoot.."  same here,

"...You fancy posting your CV.."  Very happy to oblige, but post yours first.

Can't recall you telling me how much you add to a customer's bill for the URN !!!!
