renatosk Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Greetings everyone, I am a bit of a special case I guess ) I'm an internationally experienced security technician being mainly self employed since 2001 now. Over the years I have specialised mainly in IP video, access control and building communication, but I did also lots of alarms. I came quite around a bit as I'm Croatian by origin, grew up in Germany, went to Croatia at the end of that blody war of ours and spent there 15 years. When business just took of seriously and we had our hands full of work with large IP video systems for shopping malls and business towers, back in 2010 the recession killed the construction industry and us along with it. Took the opportunity and moved to Canada where I worked for 3 years mainly as a contractor for ADT, but also a few other companies specialised in video monitoring. Meanwhile my mother, still living in Germany got sick and we decided to move back to Europe to help her out. So in 2014 we moved to Germany, my mom's fine now, but we're stucked in Germany. The kids and wife hate it, both the language and the people and the security industry is almost non existent here. Therefore I have decided to move to the UK next year. I found this kind of specialised forums always usefull and interesting for exchange of experiences and opinions, so I hope my experience will be similiar here. Renato Quote
