I think CG is more of a talker than a taker, but hey, I know little about your relationship.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

I hope I'm not getting stuck in a world of forum politics then :)

The basics are a lot of ANPR images look completely black with shutter speed of 1/750-1/1600 a general default position and Your IR illumination range should between 750nm and 920nm depending if you want it visible or not! But the minute you step into the non visible IR range you loose a lot of you operational range. The Average circa 850nm ANPR camera can have an effective range of 50m firing on the IR then it's just making sure you have the right zoom and so forth on the overview and IR camera to take advantage of this. Most voltage operations are between 12v-15v but the can be a bit current consuming especially with the IR illumination and at night but also as the road gets busier. Most of the IR is pulse so to help manage power and heat

Is there something I'm not getting on here? I'm being frank if anyone needs product advice around ANPR, installation and so on or long distance power transmission then please just ask. I'm just weary of the policy not sharing information that could be useful to people not of a trustworthy nature let's say in an open forum

Yeah ANPR needs a far whack from the illumination so they only way to manage this on the PcB and LED life is to pulse at very high rate but it's amazing how much power it reduces and heat! We have done sites with some great Raytec Vario flood IR but you need more of them in order to get the required illumination. Idle ANPR camera can draw about .8A at 12v but can surge to 2.8A when in full use on busy road so you have to be very prudent around power management

I thought there was something wrong when we put in an ndi anpr cam, it was pulsing at about 50hz on the IR cam.

Thought I was doing it wrong, until I broke open the manual..........

Trust me! The number of service calls I have dealt with over the phone from first time installations 'hello mate the glowy red thing in the middle looks like it's bit hazy/flashing I think it's busted'

It's getting people to under stand you can more effective illumination pulsing at high power than flooding! Also helps read quality and various other flexibility! We also get lot of service calls when people have asked for invisible spectrum IR fitted without knowing so a 920nm option complaining the lamp isn't on! Tel them to look at it through an IPhone camera and you can see it a dream often!
