chrisb70 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Hi everyone, hope all's good with you! I wonder if anybody would be able to shed some light here. I've got a Eurosec CP8L LCD house alarm, pre-installed (presumably by the builders) in the house I bought from somebody else 2 years ago. I do know the Engineer code and the User code. when we moved in, there was a "!!!! CHECK !!!! Low Batt." reading on the alarm, so fair enough, I bought a new battery, unscrewed the box in the garage, got the tamper alert, replaced the battery and all was well. Fast forward to now, and there is another "!!! CHECK !!! Low Batt." reading. Firstly, is that expected? It's only been 2 years since I replaced it. Secondly, I did the exact same procedure as above (well, so far as I remember) and the system still says "!!! CHECK !!! Low Batt." even though it has a new battery. What did I do wrong? Is it the Fuse? Or do I need to do a reset/power off? Thank you for any and all help , Chris Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Have you reset the system? It's possible the battery charging circuit is faulty or has a blown fuse. Quote
chrisb70 Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 Thanks very much! I haven't reset the system, but I'll give it a go. That's a reset from the Engineer menu, is that right? Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Err, well unless on engineer reset, no. Quote
PeterJames Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Check the battery fuse and the fuse holder theyre not that good. The battery should be replaced every four years depending on use, cheaper brands wont last as long Quote
chrisb70 Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 Great, thanks - will have a look at the fuse and report back. The battery (both the ones I've bought) are Yuasa. Er, are they any good? If not I will stop buying them Quote
Adi Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 do a reset. Quote I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
datadiffusion Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Firstly, is that expected? It's only been 2 years since I replaced it. Depends - if you've had a few power cuts (or more likely, power turned off all day for building work etc...) then the battery will last nowhere near as long if completely discharged. Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Hillbilly Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) Reset first and if that does not work then its the fuse holder in the battery cable that is either loose or blown. Edited November 23, 2015 by Hillbilly Quote
