Guest Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 thanks again for repliesthe battery in the bell box is reading 8.1 volts , i assumed it was renewed at service. Ill check the fuse How do you reset after a timeout? 27827 As much as I understand about the bellboxes ( this time i don't mean boxes of Bell's whisky ) the battery should give a reading of 13.8VDC since it is 12VDC battery. So like pal's here seems to say: "it's cooked." Replace at least the bell battery.
FASTCAR Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 The majority of bell boxes have either a 6v or 8.4v battery. As previously posted , check for 12v at both ends of the bell cable. While you are at it , check that the battery in the bell-box has been connected (sometimes its a small link).
Deltaseven Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 A walk test doesnt work either. 27801 Could you expand on this? What happens when you try to walk test? How are you entering walk-test mode?
Guest Guest Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Hi everyone, The voltage at the bell box from the panel is 13 volts The battery in the bell box is rated 8.4 volt, it is giving 8.1v The alarm performs correctly. IE arming , disarming, internal sounders activate upon entry ( after time delay). the only thing not happening is external sounder or strobe activating. The led does not work either I think ill replace the box tommorrow
Brian c Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Check your programming for a bell delay. Also when the alarm is activating, check the voltage at the panel between the bell 12V+ hold off and the bell 12V- trigger. It should also be around 13V If you don't know......ask.
