norman Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 PIR in a bathroom Viper Window 27924 Ditto. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Are you on commision from Crow Georg Shock sensor on the window is the only way to go here. 27942 Not actually. Just saying what PIR could do there. Pal's here have installed few outside and if they work ( ??? (haven't installed any outside myself !!! )) here in -30 degrees they should do fine in bathroom..
breff Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 For once I have to agree with Georgahti,if you must fit a pir it has to be waterproof or it will corrode, I've fitted Crow D+D's in swimming pools (not underwater) which are an even harsher environment due to chemical fumes. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Already a second time when someone agrees with me!! Thanks breff!!
Brian c Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I'm assuming it is not actually for a bathroom as Neil also seems concerned with false alarm immunity to the steam. Therefore, I don't think a PIR wil be suitable. If you don't know......ask.

Even if there is steam, temperature and environment in the room should be quite stable. Shouldn't be harsher than outside.
Brian c Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Haven't benchtested this one, but I reckon most PIR's would false alarm in a stable enviroment where steam was present. If you don't know......ask.
Guest Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Georg - if its minus 30 and you are all wrapped up in you burburry gortex or whatever how is a PIR going to see you? 27965 ehh.. sorry... i was talking only about FA's...
